[...] At a recent BSF, BM2 Tony Molina contacted a restaurant he knew in town and had them deliver puparesas. These are little tortilla sandwiches with rice, beans, meat and cheese inside, served with a hot cabbage salsa and red tomato sauce. He shared, which was a mistake, because we sent him back for more. It’s not like the food is bad on board (quite the contrary, and more about that tomorrow), but it’s just nice once in a while to try something different. [...]

[...] A long time ago, in a Central American port far, far away…not really, but can’t be more specific about our location or when we were there due to operational security. It was our first port call after 28 days at sea, not counting the BSF. [...]

I am the very PROUD mother of SN Caleb Critchfield!

I would also like to give a huge thank you to Dana for her daily blog. It makes me feel more in touch with what's going on in the daily life of my son and his shipmates. Lord love him, he tries hard to keep in touch, but I know he's extremely busy. With the daily updates we don't have to settle for "we did patrols, fished, ate, stood watch and um, made port calls" at the end of three months!

If y'all need anything, even if it's just somebody to write to, bug SN Critchfield and he'll put you touch with me and I'll help out as best I can.

Bless you all, you make us SO proud! Go USCG Munro!!

Karen is the proud parent of PO Dorothy Davies, YN3. Ira is Dottie's Step-Dad. Both of us are so very proud of what the entire crew of the Munro is doing. Special thanks to Dana who is a God send for all of the spouses, parents, and other special people who share part of their lives with the officers and crew. Dana's Blog has provided the imagery and more acronyms than we will ever be able to grasp. We understand the CIWS is also known as R2D2, and for good reason. God Bless all he serve in uniform this day, for their sacrifices of self are the reason we can read Dana’s Blog each and every day. She will surely be missed when her short time with the Officers and Crew of the Munro is over.
