[...] I look almost normal again, or at least no strong man has stepped hastily aside when he sees me coming lately. Although on the whole this crew was pretty sanguine about my close encounter with the Darwin sorter. “We’ve all done it, SN Samantha Crane told me. She was the one who told me that iron helped bruises fade faster. I started remembering to take my One-a-Days and she was right. Maybe Doc needs to recruit her. I’m just happy I’m not going to live out my life as a cross between Cyclops and a gargoyle on Notre Dame. [...]

[...] Due to my close encounter of the third kind with the Darwin sorter I have experienced Gene’s bedside manner first hand, and it is first class. Of course he still flinches a little every time I take off my sunglasses, but in fairness I have to say that I’m still an amazing Technicolor dreamboat and pretty much everyone does. His manner is kind, his touch is gentle and he’s a staunch advocate of “first, do no harm, something I’ve always liked in my medical practitioners. [...]

I'm wearing sunglasses most of the time because everyone kind of flinches and winces when they look at me. Chief Wes Guilmartin called me a toughie. I don't know when I've been more pleased at a compliment, but seriously folks, it looks way worse than it is. The Docs prescribed Motrin (800 mg., you should see the size of these pills, the Coasties call it Vitamin M) but all I really got was a localized soreness around my forehead, no headache at all. I'm good to go.

And you couldn't take this adventure from me at gunpoint, so don't even try!

Dana,

You look fabulous in the photo and you are right! Those blonde locks look much lighter.

I know you are having a blast and the crew of the Munro must be enjoying having you aboard. But then you are always a treat to spend time with.

Thanks again for all the blogs and to the Capt. and crew for all you do for all of us.
