moonset over Iliamna

moonset

This was the view out my office window this morning. Eat your hearts out.

I’ll be sending out a newsletter on February 5th, to coincide with the pub date of Prepared for Rage and to let you know where I’ll be signing when.

In the meantime, gear up for the book by revisiting the blog of my two months on patrol with USCG cutter Munro. The ship is in the novel. There might even be a few crew members in there, too.

Wow, what a picture! How can you work with that kind of distraction?

Thanks for sharing. Now back to work.

  3. Dana says:

    I am. Evil.

    Back to work it is…

I am a rabid fan of the Kate Shugak series.

Has anyone made a list of the movies/songs/records/books/poems mentioned in the series? I am really interested in reading some of the books and more of the poetry. If you can help, I would appreciate it.

  5. Dana says:

    I haven’t, but it’s a good idea.

How about this: I put up a page under the Kate Shugak series, I’ll start it with a title from the series and put a couple of book or whatever titles under it, and then invite everyone to do the same?

The one rule I would make is that the title of the Kate Shugak novel in which the title of the other work is mentioned must be included.

    What do you think?

  6. Sandy says:

That sounds like a good idea to me. I know I bought a couple of books that were mentioned.

Excellent. Let’s make sure we talk about this during chat, and I’ll get the page up maybe this weekend and post about it on the website, with a link.

  8. Linda Wisdom says:

Very cool, Dana! My dh was stationed on the Munro when she was first commissioned and based in Boston.

We met at Left Coast Crime when it was in Anchorage.

We’re both big fans of your books!

    Linda

  9. Dana says:

    I remember, and thanks, Linda!

  10. Becky says:

I thought I posted this comment, but I can’t find it. There are inconsistencies in the books that made me curious- how did they happen? At first, Kate’s eyes are brown, but later they’re hazel. Once, she was 8 when she went to live with Emaa, and later she was 5. Jim Chopin is said to be 6’10″, but later he is 6’2″. In one book, Mutt is 1/2 husky and 1/2 malamute, when we all know she’s 1/2 wolf.
