A Night Too Dark, the 17th Kate Shugak novel (I know, I can’t believe it, either) is now in the clutches of my editor in New York City.
Kelley says her favorite laugh-out-loud line is, “There is supposed to be a dog.”
It will be published in February 2010, and the Danamaniacs are making plans to attend launch day festivities at the Poisoned Pen.
Friend them on Facebook (friend me, too!) and start making plans. I don’t know about you but Scottsdale in February sounds pretty good to me.

I’ve posted a little taste just to drive you crazy. Click here to read it.

  1. Barbara Greene says:

Re that super cover on A Night Too Dark: This is, I am pretty sure, our first glimpse of Kate? When I read the book, I may find I am wrong. Thank you for all of this wonderful reading.

  2. Dana says:

You’re right, she’s only ever been in profile before. My editor had a conniption when the cover art guys told her they were going to show Kate’s face because that is Just Not Done in crime fiction, but we are both very happy with how it turned out.
