		<description>Yeah.  The river police is pretty cool, too.  I did my first triathlon yesteday, and as I swam across the river swollen with previous night&#039;s rain, nothing was as welcoming as the river police boats patrolling us :-)  Dana when you write about Kate Shugak, she just &quot;swims&quot; in open water. I don&#039;t know if you do that sort of a thing, but for people used to pools, open water can be really scary and it totally freaked me out.  I even had to lie on my back for awhile and do breathing exercises while I debated whether or not I should turn back.  The water was so deep, and so wide, and so broad...and the current was so strong the longer-triathlon swimmers had a hard time, some of them swam in place for a long time before calling it quits.      So yeah, coast guard and river police is great for us crazy types and I was so happy to see them out there.</description>
