dana on the air today

I’ll be on Dan Fagan’s call-in radio show again today, the whole second hour (3pm Alaska time). That’s 750AM KFQD (the only Anchorage radio station still broadcasting after the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake) for those of you listening in Alaska.dan
The show is available for audio streaming by clicking the Listen Live button at the top left of the KFQD website, right below the logo.
While we’re on the air, you can email Dan here or call (in Anchorage) 1-907-522-0750 or (everywhere else) 1-888-909-0750 with questions about the books and the tv series or anything you want, really. Maybe I’ll answer, maybe I won’t…

mugIn other news, I’m going to be working off Thanksgiving dinner at the Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona, on November 27th. Yes, instead of writing them I’ll be selling them hot off the bookstore shelves. If you need a recommendation for a good read for yourself or for a book for a Christmas gift, I’m your woman. I’ll be posting photos from the store to my Facebook page and Twittering in throughout the day so you can follow along online. There will be prizes, too, including an A Night Too Dark mug, some A Night Too Dark note cards, and an advance reading copy of, astonishingly, A Night Too Dark.
That’s two weeks from today, Friday, November 27th, put it on
your calendars, and I’ll see you there!

And we’re still looking for taglines, aka an answer to this burning question: “What one line would you use to describe the Kate Shugak television series if you were alone in an elevator with a Hollywood producer?” Submit yours in the Comments section of this post. 1. Dan Dziuk says:

If I were to encounter a TV producer in an elevator I would
as him to not judge Alaksa women by the big newsmakers, but by their talent an character and suggest he look at Dana Stabenow (who should run for governor) and Kate Shugak, a real Alaska hero
    and who never, never quits

  2. pat green says:

Kate is an exciting American woman who controls her destiny..if you do not count the occasional persuasive Auntie, hot state trooper, sundry evil characters, and wild Alaskan wilderness. Oh…..and the love and devotion of a part wolf/part dog sidekick.

  3. Gail Bolden says:

    Should be:

If Kate Shugak is after you, save yourself some trouble and just give up.

  4. shannon parks says:

Elevator Pitch from Shannon (aka Marguerite Gavin the audio narrator for Dame Dana’s Kate Shugak series)
” In Alaska, the REAL force to be reckoned with is not the weather. Kate Shugak, PI.”

Hi Dana — I am a UAF alumna, married 42 years to a Yukoner I met at UAF. Knew Ginny W and Celia H well. Love and reread all the KS books.

What I want to know is — when are you going to take on Sarah??
I want to be around when you do!

    Pat

  6. Dana says:

    @Pat No comment.

  7. gloria tolan says:

I love all of Dana’s books – especially the Kate Shugak series. I had the whole set – sent it to my sister in Michigan – she read them then sent them to my niece in California and when she’s finished with the set will return them to me in Anchorage.

Everyone loves that series. Keep the series alive Dana.

  8. Dana says:

    I’ll try, Gloria, and thanks!
