What list you say? In New York publishing, there is only one list, and that’s the New York Times Bestseller List.
Restless in the Grave is Number 19!
Alert ‘maniacs will note that Restless in the Grave is also Number 19 in the Kate Shugak series.
I guess that’s sort of symmetrical, when you think about it. Hard.
I’m home after my plane-a-day book tour, but I left billet-doux scattered behind me in the form of signed copies.

I am about half way through and loving it! What fun to have all of our old friends together in the same book. Thanks, Dana.
Many, many congrats! Again, you hit one out of the park…. And I still want to be Bill when I grow up.
Congratulations! That is amazing, exciting news. And the symmetry of having Kate #19 be #19 on the list is very cool. But it would be okay if it moved up – it could make several stops that add up to 19 to prolong the geeky math-ness of it. Or just go straight to #1, where I am sure it belongs.
Just a couple of chapters in, and I feel like I’m home!
That’s great news! Congradulations! I loved Restless in the Grave but of course I knew I would. I’ve enjoyed all of your books, Kate, Liam and Star. I tell people all the time, “read Dana Stabenow”.
Big Congrats! You deserve it, this is a terrific series. I am plowing through it at the rate of a book every 2-3 days or so!! Well, I had to stop because I started reading about Liam and Wy.. but now I am on the 4th Kate book. Great stuff.
We’ve already bought it and read it.
Ready to start nagging for #20 in 3…2…1
That is so cool! Really enjoyed meeting you in Seattle last weekend, told you RIG would do well! After I finish it I promise to read Hunter’s Moon!
Thank you all so much.
Sadly and regretably I left Alaska to return to the lower 48 and I left my heart in AK. How I long to return so your Kate series keep me connected and help me relieve scenes from that beautiful place. I love the stories. Are you sure Kate isn’t real?
She’s pretty real to me, Beth.
Me too. I cannot wait to read the entire series. Up to number 11.
Congratulations! And an awesome book it is, too. I finished it minutes ago. This may be one of the best ones. You’ve let us learn so much more about Kate and the way she does and does not relate to men (I’m avoiding spoilers here
; I can definitely relate to the way she handles the Gabe situation. And, Moses…you’ve managed to connect the two old men in such a subtle and profound way, and it wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t shown how Kate relates to old men, specifically her elders. The general plot arc was pretty darn ingenuous and I loved the whole way you spun the tale and wove the web, and how it all came together and made perfect sense in the end. And, Jim, poor Jim fencing with shadows in his temporary solitude, racking his brain for the best possible way to handle an explosive situation while getting phone calls from unexpected locations…poor guy. I enjoyed visiting with many characters from your other books, especially with Liam and Wy, but it had also been a treat to those, occupying seemingly smaller roles. I could go on and on.
Now I can hand the book over to my loving husband, who had bought it for me in the first place
Thanks so much, Kate.
