Have we got a date for Restless in the Grave UK Kindle release, please?
    Eagerly waiting…

  2. Fran says:

Restless in the Grave was great! Congratulations on jumping right in at #19 on the NYT Bestseller list. Too bad about the TV series but will be hoping the movie works out and they find the right “Kate”. Now that I’m caught up on the Kate books (and the 3 sci fi books) I can start on the Liam novels. Really enjoy your books…keep ‘em coming!

  3. Dana says:

    Thanks so much, Fran.

  4. Dana says:

All my UK publisher says is all the Kates will be out in e-format by the end of the year. When I know, you’ll know. And thanks for eagerly waiting!

  5. I’ve been a fan ever since I lived in Alaska and you made the place intelligible for me….and here in NC, I read you because I miss it so much! But I’m extremely disappointed in you for

doing in Moses so soon after Old Sam. Moses was a very good study of an important archetype, the Shaman, and I really looked forward to seeing his character developed. I’d like to see some reason for killing him off, but I just don’t get it, and as a literary device, I think he was worth more alive than he was dead.
  6. Dana says:

I can only say it was inevitable, Amidha, both in life and in the context of character development in the novels. I would say more, but I don’t want to tip my hand.

  7. Well, all I can say is that you’d better make it worth it!!! :-)

  8. Cathy says:

Great series! Always look forward to another Shugak novel. I found an inconsistency (I think) in your latest. On p. 128 it states that there are no curtains on the windows in Liam’s house. On p. 192, it says that the curtains are open. Not a big deal but thought you might want to know.

    You thought right, Cathy, thanks!

Just love your Kate Shugak novels! They are so removed from our lives here in Australia but I look forward to reading them as soon as they are available. Just finished ‘Restless in the grave’ today so get cracking Dana on your next one!

  11. Dana says:

Thanks so much, Suzanne. Lovely to have appreciative readers from Down Under. Speaking of life removed from Alaska…

  12. Cris says:

Please can you hassle your publisher to get Restless In The Grave out on Kindle in the UK? I am dying from lack of Alaskan detective fiction over here!

  13. Dana says:

We can’t have that, Cris. In fact, Kates 10-19 should be out in the UK by the end of the year. I don’t have an exact date yet, but when I do I promise you I’ll send out a newsletter.

  14. Karen Chin says:

I really enjoyed Restless in the Grave (and Though Not Dead before it). Thank you. I appreciate your character development and liked seeing the development of both Jim’s and Kate’s realization of their feelings for each other. When I first discovered the Kate series, it was so wonderful to just go from one book to the next to unravel character and relationship developments, but now that I’ve caught up, it’s sad to have to wait a year to see what will happen to everyone, esp. Jim and Kate (I’m a romance reader at heart), although the introduction of Gabe McGuire makes me very nervous, a la Hunter’s Moon. It was quite a treat to have Liam and Wy, Bill and Moses, mixed into this Kate book. I hope your Kate series never ends! And I wouldn’t mind if you started up Liam’s series again.

  15. Karen Chin says:

Oh, and I forgot to say one of my favorite scenes was at the beginning after the wild and crazy snowmobile ride home when Kate and Mutt wrestle in the snow all the way into the house and she meets their house guest! Such a perfect introduction to Kate for Liam!

  16. Dana says:

I really enjoyed that scene, too, Karen.
